UNEMPLOYMENT


Problem of unemployment and poverty became one of the biggest problems in Indonesia. Until now the Government can not handle it. Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (Kemenkertans) was only able to reduce 1.5% of the total unemployed per year. 
Entering Th.2011 open unemployment rate now at 9.25 million. Program arranged barupun kemenkertrans, ie communication with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) job in spreading information. Various efforts have been made by the Government to address the problem of unemployment and poverty.
The new problems faced by Manpower, the workforce in Indonesia have high levels of education are 50% more just graduated from elementary schools (SD). Besides, the completion of job seekers do not fit with the opportunities available.  
Muhaimin said it now took Social Network Communities through Education Institutions and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Starting 2011, employment information will be spread more broadly by utilizing television and education institutions. There are three groups of local Workforce Information dissemination. 
Recent studies said , that Indonesia's high economic growth are not directly related to unemployment and poverty. It was seen in Indonesia, where high economic growth of less with reduced unemployment and poverty.  Research Center for Economic Research (P3E) LIPI, Wijaya Adi said, pemeritah pegangguran prevalent use of funds open to measure the relationship of economic growth with employment. Though the data does not reflect the real level of public welfare, because the fact of minimal income workers and workers with standard working hours are not considered unemployed. LIPI therefore use the term underemployment for those who work less than 35 hours a week to better describe the well-being. 
LIPI noted, the level of citizens belonging to the category of underemployment continues to increase in the last five years, and 29.64 million people in Th.2005 to 32.8 million people in Th.2010. It is estimated that the number of residents in the category Th.2011 underemployment is projected to increase 34, 32 million people.  
Head of Statistics (BPS) Rusman Heriawan said, until February 2011 the number of unemployed in Indonesia reached 8.12 million people, this number declined 470 thousand people than in February 2010 that as many as 8.59 million people.  
The open unemployment rate in February 2011 reached 6.8% of the total workforce. This number decreased compared to February 2010 amounting to 7.41% Heriawan.  
The number of labor force in Indonesia in February 2011 reached 119.4 million, an increase of about 2.9 million people compared to the labor force in August 2010 of 116.5 million or an increase of 3.4 million people compared to February 2010 amounting to 116 million people.
Residents who work in Indonesia in February 2011 reached 111.3 million, an increase of about 3.1 million people compared to the state in August 2010 amounted to 108.2 million or an increase of 3.9 million people compared to the state in February 2010 amounting to 107.4 million people .  

Last year (May 2010-February 2011) almost all sectors has increased the number of workers, unless the Agricultural sector and the Transport Sector, each of which has decreased the number of workers by 360 thousand people (0.84%) 240 thousand persons (4.12%) .
